Frustration as Ed Sheeran Tickets Run Out

JOHANNESBURG – If you’re planning to buy tickets to see Ed Sheeran, who’ll be hitting South African shores for the first time in 2019, you may be in for some disappointment.

Fans have been left frustrated as there are reports that tickets have sold out while the Computicket website, which is the official ticket seller, buckles under all the traffic to the event’s page.

Tickets went on sale on 28 June for the Cape Town show and 29 June for the Johannesburg shows (payday week, conveniently) and by mid-morning on both days, the site either displayed a message that tickets have been grabbed or a technical issue notice

The cheapest Johannesburg tickets, going for R455 and R680, have all been grabbed. If you try and book one, you get the following message: “All tickets have currently been grabbed, please continue trying as some tickets may be freed up soon, due to payments being abandoned. A SOLD OUT message will appear when the event is sold out.”

Cape Town bookings have been completely closed. Computicket has taken to social media to convey the message to buyers and apologise for any inconveniences, as fans have expressed their frustration.
