AKA’s Jika trending as the biggest song in SA at the moment

Mzansi hip hop legend, AKA, shared exciting news with his social media followers earlier today about his song, Jika trending as the biggest song in SA at the moment.
We knew it, it was only a matter of time before the talented AKA manoeuvred his fans to help him reach the number one spot. AKA shared the current stats from Radio Monitor’s biggest South African artists.

And it so happened that his song, Jika, had moved a place up, overtaking Prince Kaybee’s Fetch Your Life. He wrote: “It gives me great pleasure to announce… That after a short period of business and water related activities… #JIKA is now officially the biggest song in the country. Thank You very much, and praise God.

In his tweet on Twitter, he mentions that Kaybee’s has the biggest song in the country and is the only thing that stands between him and the number one spot. We’re sure that AKA acknowledges Prince Kaybee’s sharp musical skills but does he really feel threatened by him or just encouraging his fans to help him reach the number one spot.

Social media is one way that fans can stay connected and involved in their favourite celebs’ lives. AKA loves using social media to get fans’ attention, especially when it comes to him and Zinhle.

AKA fan creatively reached out to check on the Supa Mega. Instead of assuming the worst or needing to know what was going on, this fan rallied up the crew and got AKA’s attention by showing him love.

TS Records strike back to Zahara

Not too long ago Zahara came for TS Records necks, querying the whereabouts about the “millions” they owe her, during the height of her career.

And so the plot thickens with Zahara and TS Records.

But it doesn’t seem to look like that “Loliwe” has passed by. TS Records has hit back at Zahara’s claims, issuing a cease-and-desist letter to the star preventing her making “false and defamatory statements” about the company to the media on the matter.

TK Nciza, who owns the label with DJ Sbu, has denied the allegation. In a letter dated April 11, which is addressed to Zahara, the company’s attorneys Rosengarten & Feinberg said they had noted Zahara’s utterances on several media platforms and called on her to refrain from making any false or defamatory comments on the matter. They also disputed her claims.

A copy of the letter was posted by DJ Sbu on Instagram this morning, along with several other statements from TS Records, Universal Music and Sheer Publishing – all claiming that they did not owe Zahara anything.

Sowetan reported earlier this week that the singer had accused TS Records of underpaying her for performances, record sales and royalties. She later told Metro FM’s Mo Flava that she would sometimes get “a mere R10,000”- sobbing. Like, this ‘Country Girl’ was crying on air, so why would this be a false claim?

Zahara has stated that she has seen this letter but neither she nor her legal team has been served.

She said her lawyers were in the process of drawing up a request to TS Records for copies of all contracts involving her during her time at the label so that they could be reviewed by her team of lawyers and accountants.

Zahara said she was saddened by DJ Sbu’s stance after she claimed he had offered his support to her.

The singer also took to social media to tell fans that she intends to leave the fight up to her lawyers and thanked them for their support.

It looks like the kind of messy divorce that lives in Hollywood but we’re here to see what unfolds when it goes down.

New tune ‘Careless’ from A-Reece

It is now safe to say that A-Reece is on a rapid race this year with the music he constantly drops almost every week. The year is young but he had already dropped 3 singles, an album and been involved in a number of collaborative projects.

Recently he blessed his fans with another lit joint titled Careless, with lyrics that go like : “If you think i wanted it to happen this way/I was there before the money she wanted the fame/How could you stick around and let her have her way/She even go as far as throwing dirt on my name/How you let her come between us and the records that we made/Sh!t is crazy but i figured you just aching…”

The song is a real potential hit, everything from the sound, tempo to the lyrics equates to perfection. Reece’s album also has been performing well despite the criticism it received.
